These Terms of Use govern the use of the CookyFast website and services (hereinafter "we", "us" or "the provider"). By using our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services.

1. Scope

These Terms of Use apply to all users of the CookyFast website and services. They govern the rights and obligations between the provider and users.

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Bern, to the extent permitted by law.

2. Services

CookyFast provides a platform for managing cooking recipes. The main features include:

  • Storage and management of recipes
  • Import of recipes from URLs and PDF files
  • Organisation of recipes in folders and categories
  • Adjustment of portions and ingredient quantities
  • Management of ingredients and instructions

We reserve the right to change, extend or discontinue the services offered at any time, provided this does not conflict with the interests of the user.

3. Registration and Account

Registration is required to use our services. When registering, you must provide:

  • A valid email address
  • A secure password

You agree to:

  • provide truthful and complete information
  • keep your login credentials confidential
  • notify us immediately if you notice signs of misuse of your account
  • be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to block or delete accounts if these Terms of Use are violated.

4. User Obligations

You agree to use our services only in accordance with applicable law and these Terms of Use. In particular, you are prohibited from:

  • distributing illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene or otherwise objectionable content
  • infringing copyrights, trademarks or other rights of third parties
  • uploading viruses, trojans, worms or other harmful programmes
  • attempting to gain unauthorised access to our systems
  • using the services for commercial purposes without our prior written consent
  • using automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access our services
  • using the services to harass or harm other users

5. Copyright and Intellectual Property

The content, functions and services available on this website are protected by copyright. They remain the property of the provider or its licensors.

You retain the copyright for content you upload or create (recipes, images, texts). However, by using our services you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, reproduce and display this content in the context of providing our services.

You warrant that you own the rights to all content you upload or have the necessary rights to use it, and that this content does not infringe any third-party rights.

6. Disclaimer

The provider does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or quality of the information and services provided. Use of the services is at your own risk.

The provider is not liable for:

  • loss of data arising from technical problems, errors or failures
  • damages arising from the use or non-use of the services
  • damages arising from viruses or other harmful programmes
  • interruptions or failures of the services
  • loss of business opportunities, data or profits

To the extent permitted by law, the provider's liability for slight negligence is excluded. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains reserved.

6a. Liability for Recipes and User Content

CookyFast merely provides a platform for collecting and managing recipes. The provider assumes no liability or warranty for the accuracy, completeness, safety or quality of recipes created or imported by users.

In particular:

  • Responsibility for the correctness of recipes, ingredient information and preparation instructions lies solely with users.
  • The provider is not liable for health damage, allergies or other impairments arising from the use of recipes.
  • Users are responsible for checking ingredients for compatibility, allergens and possible health risks.
  • The provider does not verify recipes created or imported by users for accuracy or safety.
  • Automatically extracted recipe data (from URLs or PDFs) may contain errors and should be verified before use.

Each user uses recipes at their own risk and is responsible for checking the content.

7. Availability of Services

We endeavour to offer the services continuously and without interruption. However, 100% availability of the services cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to discontinue the services temporarily or permanently, in particular for maintenance, updates or other technical reasons.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time and stop using our services. After deletion of your account, your data will be deleted in accordance with our privacy policy, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

We reserve the right to block or delete your account without prior notice if you violate these Terms of Use or if we have legitimate reasons for blocking.

9. Changes to the Terms of Use

We reserve the right to change these Terms of Use at any time. We will inform you of material changes by email or via our website. Continued use of our services after a change to the Terms of Use constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.

10. Data Protection

11. Severability Clause

If individual provisions of these Terms of Use are or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by the valid provision whose economic purpose comes closest to that of the invalid provision.
